Find an Organization in Your AreaFinding an organization in your community with a particular area of focus will depend on one’s perspective. Being a first responder, emergency preparedness professional, business owner, medical professional, community activist, educator, individual with a disability, or any combination of these will determine where to start first. Armed with information found elsewhere in this Resource Center, people wishing to pioneer a disability-related emergency preparedness initiative in their respective communities may identify local chapters or affiliates closest to one’s place of work or residence. The following web sites provide starting points for individuals to connect with local disability organizations. Please note: The Web sites listed below are not federal government websites, and may not necessarily operate under the same laws, regulations, and policies as federal websites.
